What Time Is The Jail Open:
The Nolan County Jail in Sweetwater, Texas is open 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
When Are Prisoners Arraigned:
New inmates are usually arraigned within 48 hours. The specific time will vary as the Magistrate’s set their own schedule.
Inmates who are arrested on a District Court warrant for a “Failure to Appear” will see the judge the following Thursday or Friday after their arrest.
When Are Visiting Hours:
Visitors can visit inmates for 30 minutes 2 times a week. (The week starts on Monday and ends on Sunday.)
Visitors must schedule their visit at least two or three days in advance by calling Nolan County Sheriff’s Office at 325-235-5471. When you call the Nolan County Sheriff’s Office be prepared to provide them with your name, the name of the inmate, the day you want to visit, and the name of any children under the age of 18 that you will bring with you. The Nolan County Sheriff’s Office does limit the number of children under 18 that you can bring with you to 3 per visit.
Visitation is separated by gender as follows:

What Do I Need To Visit An Inmate:
You must be 17 years or older and have a valid photo identification to visit an inmate. Children under the age of 17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. All visitors must be appropriately dressed or they will not be allowed to see the inmate.
What Can I Mail An Inmate:
You can send mail, including money orders and cashier’s checks to the inmate. But do not send cash or personal checks as they will be returned to you. Please note that all incoming correspondence is opened and scanned and inspected.

What Is The Phone Call Policy:
Inmates are allowed to make collect calls from jail and the Nolan County jail uses the services of T-NETIX to connect those calls. You must create an account with this company to ensure that you are able to receive collect calls from inmates. Once you have set up your account you can select the payment option that best fits your needs and you can manage your account online. Commissary
Inmates can purchase items from commissary and you can put money on their account to purchase items. You can deposit money in person at the Information window in the lobby of the Nolan County Sheriff’s Office between the hours of 8:30AM – 5:30PM. You will need the name of the inmate and their SO number to make the deposit. Or you can transfer funds to the inmate’s account using Western Union.
