What Is The Phone Call Policy at Travis County Jail?

Phone Cards

As an alternative to “collect calls,” inmates can also purchase phone cards for $10 or $20 through Commissary. Phone cards can be used to reach cell phones. They can be carried at all times. They can be used outside the facility when the inmate is released.

Collect Calls

Telephones are available in each of the dayrooms. Inmates will have access to the telephone during morning, afternoon and evening hours. A 20-minute time limit is enforced to allow all inmates access to the telephone. These are “collect call” telephones that require the receiver of the call to pay for all calls that are accepted. Please visit the Securus website for more information on rates. https://securustech.net/

Collect Calls to a Cell Phone

Inmates can now make a 15-minute call to a cell phone. The person receiving the call on their cell phone will incur a charge of $9.99 for accepting the call from an inmate. Should you have questions regarding the Securus phone system or phone call charges, call (800) 844-6591.

The exclusive provider of inmate phone services at the Travis County Jail is Securus Technologies, Inc. (Securus). To prevent unauthorized inmate collect call charges to your phone bill, do not attempt to transfer any inmate call; do not attempt to conference call another number, and do not call forward your phone. If you wish to set up an account with Securus, visit www.securustech.net. If you feel you have been a victim of fraudulent inmate collect call charges, contact your local telephone service provider. You may also contact Securus at 1-800-844-6591 to block any calls originating from the Travis County Jail to your phone.

Open an account with Securus’ Inmate Connections and begin accepting calls on your home or cell phone.

    • 9.99 for every call recieved is such a damn rip off. The entire email system is full of add on ridiculous bullshit charges every time you attempt to make contact with family/friend inmate. It’s just shameful to be ripping off those who may be the least able to afford these “fees” – – Its not just Travis County it seems to be everywhere. Our entire system is a death trap.
